Gak
You'll have hours of fun playing with this stretchy, rubbery, play-dough like substance! You may need an adult to help make it though. You'll need a 4 oz. bottle of Elmer's glue, Borax, food coloring, water, two bowls, a stirring spoon, and measuring cups and spoons. First, mix the whole bottle of glue and 1/2 cup water together in a bowl. Make it your favorite color by adding food coloring and stirring some more. In the second bowl, heat one cup of water and mix in one tbsp. of Borax. Stir until it dissolves, then continue adding 1/2 tsp. of Borax while stirring until no more dissolves. Then, pour the Borax water into the glue water and stir until a big glob forms in the middle of your mixture. Carefully lift out the glob and squish the excess water out until it becomes more solid. Your Gak is ready, so have fun with it! It will break if you pull it apart quickly, but it will stretch if you pull it apart slowly. If you set one glob on top of another, they will melt together. Enjoy experimenting with your Gak!
